Always attracted to the spark of the next new challenge, Dana focuses her energy on development activities that cross disciplinary and institutional borders. Your idea is just starting to take form? Dana’s the person to call since she really enjoys exploring potential directions, networks for building sustainable partnerships, and the resources available to support your efforts. Dana specializes in funding development; program and project planning, implementation, and evaluation; market demand analysis; and small business and non-profit organization management.
Professionally, Dana has been with Kansas State University’s Institute for Academic Alliances (IAA) since 2002, and was active in the creation of the Institute. As an IAA staff member, Dana has supported the launch of various inter-institutional program alliances, including the Big 12 Engineering Consortium. She annually teaches two graduate-level grant-writing courses to students at-a-distance.
Dana has an M.A. in English Language, Composition, and Rhetoric and a Graduate Certificate in Technical Writing and Professional Communication from Kansas State University. She is a 2006 alumna of the James R. Coffman Leadership Institute and a 2006–2007 graduate of the Flint Hills Regional Leadership Program. Dana is also co-owner of Viridis Gardenscapes, a Manhattan-based company that she and her partner started in 2001 to encourage the creation of sustainable, waterwise landscapes in Kansas.
