Ms. Pitts joined the Kansas State University team in 2008, as the Project Coordinator for AG*IDEA. Ms. Pitts supports the AG*IDEA Executive Committee and the Board of Directors. She manages all forms of information transfer and dissemination for the many discipline areas within AG*IDEA. She also maintains the AG*IDEA website and works closely with the faculty, students and campus coordinators.
Currently working towards her Master’s degree in Library Science (M.L.S.), Ms. Pitts has gained valuable first-hand experience in hybrid distance education programs and coursework. As a student of library science, Ms. Pitts has studied the effects of the Information transfer process, as well as information management, repackaging and dissemination for the purpose of providing customized service. One of her goals is to graduate with a 4.0 G.P.A. and have the distinction of being the outstanding program graduate in her class.
Digital initiatives are of particular interest to Ms. Pitts and one of her strengths remains a vast knowledge base in the area of digital technologies and applications, as they pertain to learning styles and pedagogy within academia. Having personally worked with several Web 2.0 and online/digital learning forums, Ms. Pitts remains on the cutting edge of the educational technology which will be commonplace in the coming decade.
Ms. Pitts is originally from Colorado, where she received her B.S. degree in Agricultural Business from Colorado State University. She has worked in banking and was most recently a Kansas State Standardized Food Service Inspector prior to her transition to Kansas State University. Her agricultural background, coupled with her interest in information transfer within higher education, enables Ms. Pitts to engage and support the activities of AG*IDEA.
